CARRIE SUE SMITH BAILEY

Shelby resident

Carrie Sue Smith Bailey, 80, of Shelby died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at home. She was born Feb. 4, 1925, in Searles, Ala., and was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd L. &uot;Joe&uot; Bailey, and two daughters, Billie Hale and Cynthia Armstrong.

She is survived by one daughter, Teresa (Jimmy) Magouyrk; two grandsons, Greg (Christie) Hale and Zach Armstrong; one great-granddaughter, Kylie Hale; one sister, Leona Holder; and three step-children, Jerry (Anita) Bailey, Chad (Marcia) Bailey and JoAnn (David) Steed.

Graveside service was July 7 at 1 p.m. at Bay Spring Cemetery, the Rev. Johnnye Horton presiding and Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directing.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the church’s building fund.

Keith Emfinger, 38, of Jemison and formerly of Shelby, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005.

Service was July 7 at 7 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home in Calera.

ERNA E. GRAEBER

Wilsonville resident

Erna E. Graeber, 94, of Wilsonville died June 25, 2005, in Alabaster. She was born July 13, 1910, in Germany.

Arrangements were under the direction of Charter Funeral Home in Calera.

LUELLA HAYNES GARRETT

Mother of six

Luella Haynes Garrett, 90, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at a local hospital. She was born Nov. 20, 1914, in St. Clair County. She was a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Garrett and her son-in-law, Bruce Franklin of Russellville, Ark.

She is survived by six children, Linda (Landon) Jones of Shelby, James (Kay) Garrett of Columbiana, Howard Garrett of Ontario, Calif., Lilus Franklin of Russellville, Ark., Frank (Martha) Garrett of Calera and Ferman Garrett of Shelby; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Service was July 9 at 11 a.m. at Bolton-Letlow Chapel, the Rev. Johnnye Horton presiding. Burial followed in Shelby Garden of Rest Cemetery, Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directing.

LEWEY &uot;LEW&uot; HARKINS

Resident of Randolph, Ala.

Lewey &uot;Lew&uot; Harkins, 68, of Randolph, Ala., died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, in Alabaster.

Service was July 8 at 11 a.m. at Rockco’s Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Scott Watson presiding. Burial followed at Montevallo Cemetery.
