Published 4:07pm Monday, January 24, 2011

Two Shelby County Junior ROTC Programs combined to formally retire a large number of unserviceable U.S. Flags during a ceremony Saturday, Dec. 11, at Shelby County Beeswax Park. The two schools collected unserviceable flags from community individuals, businesses and government offices throughout the year. Vincent and Pelham JROTC Joint Color Guard and unit members paid a ceremonial last tribute just prior to the flags’ destruction by fire.
