Eagles top First Assembly Christian

The Hope Christian School girls’ basketball team defeated First Assembly Christian 36-31 in an Alabama Christian Sports Conference contest Jan. 31.

Erin Douglas and Leigh Wilson Legg led the Eagles (10-7) with 10 points each in the victory. Douglas grabbed seven rebounds in the win.

Christina Jones added seven points, two rebounds and three steals. Brooke Machen chipped in three points.

Joelle Reed, Rachel Rettig and Rachel Holmes finished with two points each in the win. Rettig grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. Reed finished with four boards.

Davina Drew grabbed three rebounds, while Karlee Tate finished with two boards.

BOYS

The Hope Christian School boys’ basketball team edged First Assembly Christian 51-48 in an Alabama Christian Sports Conference contest Jan. 31.

Brandon Fuller led the Eagles (7-12) with 14 points in the victory. Fuller also recorded five steals.

Immanuel Drew and Pete Thomason added nine points each. Cameron Costa chipped in eight points.

Seth Burnham contributed five points and a team-high eight rebounds in the win. Benjamin Bunn finished with four points. Caleb Booker added two points.
