Lions fall to East Memorial in region tournament

The Kingwood Christian School girls’ basketball team fell to East Memorial Christian Academy 38-26 in its Alabama Independent Schools Association Class 1A, Region 2 tournament opener Feb. 2 at Tuscaloosa Academy.

Blair Holsombeck led the Lions (8-15) with nine points. Holsombeck also finished with three rebounds and one steal.

Casey Whitmer added seven points to go along with a team-high 11 rebounds and four steals.

Madelyn Pearce chipped in six points, six rebounds two steals and one blocked shot. Katie Etheridge contributed four points and nine rebounds.
