Lions top South Montgomery County

The Kingwood Christian School baseball team defeated South Montgomery County Academy 14-4 in high school baseball action Feb. 25.

Will Holt led the Lions at the plate as he finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.

Tyler Harrell went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Gavin Sumrall finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Andrew Whitfield earned the win on the mound after giving up four runs, including one earned run, on four hits with eight strikeouts and a walk in six innings.

Kingwood Christian fell to Springwood 4-1 in the second game of the day.

Whitfield led the Lions at the plate as he finished 2-for-4.

Bailey Broadhead went 1-for-2 at the plate and scored a run.

Holt took the loss after giving up four runs, including one earned run, on seven hits with five strikeouts and a walk in six innings.
