Chargers shut out Ellwood Christian in season opener

The Cornerstone Christian School baseball team defeated Ellwood Christian 11-0 in its season-opening game Feb. 27.

Auston Wingard led the Chargers (1-0) at the plate with two hits, including a double, an RBI and two stolen bases.

Chase Payne finished with two hits and drove in one run. Austin Davis, who had three stolen bases, added two hits and drove in two runs.

Adrian Young earned the win on the mound after giving up just one hit with seven strikeouts in three innings.

Hagan Joiner and Austin Andrews pitched two innings each in the opener.
