Lions win softball tournament

The Kingwood Christian School softball team claimed the Prattville Christian tournament championship March 3.

The Lions defeated Autauga Academy 16-4, Cornerstone Christian 5-1 and Prattville Christian 11-4 on their way to the tournament title.

Kaylyn Ingram finished with a 3-1 record in the circle during the tournament. Ingram also homered in the win over Autauga Academy.

Madeline Lee went 2-0 in the circle, including a no-hitter in a win over Chambers Academy on March 1. Lee, who homered twice in the tournament, didn’t give up a run in 13 innings in the circle.

Katie McElroy went 8-for-13 during the weekend. Brook Roper finished 4-for-8 at the plate in the tournament. Caroline Clark finished 5-for-12 with two doubles.

Ingram, Lee and Karley Chamblee were each named to the all-tournament team.
