Rebels top Bessemer Academy

The Coosa Valley Academy baseball team defeated Bessemer Academy 8-0 in high school baseball action March 8.

Allen Logan led the Rebels (9-2) at the plate as he finished with two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs.

Tyler Hickman added one hit and drove in two runs. Michael Mims finished with two hits. Preston Parker drove in two runs.

Myles Varner added two hits. Garrett McMillan, Jake Carter and Cody Wood finished with one hit each.

Austin Tatum earned the win on the mound after giving up just two hits with four strikeouts and a walk in five innings.

Varner allowed two hits in one inning in relief. Hickman struck out all three batters he faced in his one inning on the mound.
