Coosa Valley tops Evangel Christian

The Coosa Valley Academy softball team defeated Evangel Christian Academy 8-1 in high school softball action March 20.

Carlee Yarnell led the Rebels (11-1) as she finished 3-for-4 at the plate.

Hannah Vick finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Amelia Ripley went 2-for-2 at the plate with a triple. Terrie Sprayberry added two hits each.

Danielle Richardson, Jessica Parris, Allison Craft, Kala Shaw and Shelby Hurt contributed one hit each.

Vick earned the win in the circle after recording eight strikeouts in a complete-game victory.
