Hope Christian splits doubleheader with Evangel Family

The Hope Christian School softball team split a doubleheader with Evangel Family Christian Academy of Montgomery in high school softball action March 22.

The Eagles defeated Evangel Family 9-2 in the opener.

Samantha Rowley led Hope Christian with three hits in the victory.

Lindy Walker, Layla Skinner and Abby Patton, who had a triple, added two hits each. Sarah Birdsong, Kathleen Clark and Rachel Rettig finished with one hit each.

Skinner drove in three runs in the win. Clark drove in two runs, while Birdsong drove in one run.

Walker earned the win in the circle after recording one strikeout in a complete-game victory.

The Eagles fell to Evangel Christian 10-0 in the nightcap. Amanda Rowley took the loss in the circle.
