Eagles defeat rival Lightning

The Hope Christian School softball team defeated rival Evangel Christian 21-1 in high school softball action March 27.

Lindy Walker led the Eagles with four hits in the victory. Walker also drove in two runs.

Amanda Rowley and Abby Patton added two hits each. Samantha Rowley, Sarah Birdsong, Rachel Retting and Claire Bartlett contributed one hit each.

Samantha Rowley, Amanda Rowley, Jessica Rowley, Abby Patton and Allie Patton drove in one run each in the victory.

Lindy Walker, who earned the win in the circle, recorded six strikeouts in three innings.

Jessyca Ray led Evangel Christian at the plate with a pair of doubles. Ray also drove in the lone run for the Lightning. Caroline Johnson finished with one stolen base.

Ray, who also took the loss, recorded 10 strikeouts in three innings.
