Bulldogs split doubleheader with John Carroll

The Montevallo High School softball team split a doubleheader with John Carroll Catholic in high school softball action April 2.

The Bulldogs defeated John Carroll 5-4 in the opener.

Megan Draper led Montevallo offensively as she finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Addie Edwards went 1-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs.

Alex Bolton earned the win in the circle after giving up four runs, including three earned runs, on seven hits with four strikeouts and eight walks in a complete-game victory.

Montevallo fell to the Cavaliers 10-3 in the nightcap.

McKenna Anderson led the Bulldogs offensively as she finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Anderson also scored one run.

Kaley Kornegay took the loss in the circle after giving up 10 runs, including four earned runs, on five hits with eight strikeouts and five walks in a complete game.
