MONTEVALLO – Ebenezer United Methodist Church is celebrating its annual homecoming event Sunday, May 6.

The church was founded in 1891, and the long-running celebration invites present and former members to return to the church for a day of fellowship, music and food.

“We invited everybody to come,” said church member Betty Cupp. “We’ve having the Strait Way Quartet from Cullman, and they’ll perform in the morning.”

Attendees will enjoy lunch together before an afternoon of singing.

“It’s well attended,” Cupp said. “People who were raised in this community and have left the community, they come back.”

Ebenezer United Methodist Church is located off Alabama 119 South at 374 Shelby County 24 in Montevallo. The service will begin at 10 a.m. and end around 3 p.m. Call the church at 620-4222 for more information.
