Joe Franklin Crowson, age 70, of Keystone passed away on May 7, 2012. Joe owned and operated Joe F. Crowson Construction. Joe’s call name on his CB radio was “Blue Beard,” as he also enjoyed Ham Radio and got his Amateur Radio License in 2008 (KJ4CMR). He also loved to barbecue and often served Pelham Police and Fire Departments.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Flora Crowson; sons, Bryan Crowson (Amanda) and Brandon Crowson (Danielle); grandchildren, Leigh Anne, Dustin, Rhiannon, Jesse, Olivia, Ethan and Asa Crowson; sisters, Faye L. Melvin, Jean Gurley, Barbara Backes, Wanda Holcomb and Linda O’Daniel; and brother, Jerry Crowson.

Funeral services will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home Chapel May 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. with burial in Elliotsville Cemetery. Rev. Shelby Baston officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
