Strozier places second at Montevallo Early Bird Classic

MONTEVALLO – Pelham High School’s Mary Grace Strozier led area runners at the Montevallo Early Bird Classic cross county meet held at the University of Montevallo on Aug 31.

Strozier took second place in the girls’ large school run with a time of 19:48.73 finishing just behind Mountain Brook’s Jessica Molloy. Jacqueline Head of Shelby County and Erika Kulp of Thompson each placed in the top-20.

Andrew Givan of Pelham took 22nd with a time of 18:21.23 in the boys’ large school race to lead area runners finishing just two minutes behind Payton Ballard of Mountain Brook that finished first.
