Kingwood falls on the road to Edgewood

ELMORE-Edgewood Academy held off a late Kingwood Christian surge to win 3-1(25-21, 25-13, 21-25,26-24) in volleyball action at Edgewood Academy on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

After losing the first two sets, Kingwood rallied to win the third set, 25-21. But in the fourth set, Edgewood was able to halt the Lions attempt to force a fifth set winning, 26-24.

The Lions were led by Madelyn Pearce with nine kills and two service aces.  Casey Whitmer and Sloane Pickett each had solid nights  with seven kills apiece.  Blair Holsombeck also chipped in three service aces, a kill, and a team-high 17 assists.
