Norvin Ray Turner, age 75, of Montevallo, passed away Oct. 5, 2012.

Norvin was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a mechanical engineering degree. He worked at Westinghouse and National Standard before starting his own business.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Turner; parents, Beatrice and Melvin Turner; brother, Melvin Turner (Pudd); and granddaughter, Jordan Turner.

Norvin is survived by two sons, Jason Turner (Danielle) and Kevin Turner (Kristi); daughter, Janet Dockery (Scott); sister, Alpha Stanford (Paul); twin brother, Norris Turner; grandchildren, Dillon, Lindsey, Lana, Stone and Sam Turner, and Megan, and Shelby Dockery; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Oct. 7 from 6-8 p.m. at University Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held Oct. 8 at 11 a.m. at Montevallo City Cemetery with Rev. John Harris officiating.
