Oak Mountain sweeps Vestavia

VESTAVIA HILLS – In a match-up of top-10 teams in Class 6A, the Oak Mountain volleyball team showed their dominance with a 25-13, 25-12, 25-19 sweep of No. 7 Vestavia Hills on Oct. 9.

The No. 5 Eagles (24-4) were led by Emily Cosgrove’s 18 kills, six digs and three blocks. Hannah Beach added 18 assists, six kills and five digs. Madison Pierce finished with five kills and three blocks while Amy Ritenour led the defense with 12 digs.

Oak Mountain will conclude the regular season with an Area 8 match against Spain Park on Oct. 11.
