Walter G. “Buddy” Smith, age 82, of Shelby, passed away on Nov. 7, 2012. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Nov. 10 at Shelby Church of God with Rev. Johnny Bryant and Rev. Bob Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Shelby Garden of Rest. Visitation will be Nov. 9 from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Howard Smith; parents, Felix and Bertie Smith; and great-granddaughter, Carlee Ann Araujo. He is survived by his children, Rhonda Nix (Scott), Myra Clark (Glenn), Tim Smith (Bobbie) of Shelby and Greg Smith of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Jermey Nix, Trent Clark, Makenzie Sanford, Amanda Smith, Amber Cooper, Chris Castleberry, Connie Davis and Cacy Smith; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Jones and Maggie Jean Cobb; and a host of family and friends.
