Montevallo baseball signs eight newcomers

MONTEVALLO – The University of Montevallo baseball team welcomed eight newcomers to the program following the NCAA early signing period.

The newcomers joining the Falcons include teammates Tanner Koch and Colton Nussel of Bishop McLaughlin Catholic School in Tampa, Fla., Matthew Herrin of Armuchee High School in Rome, Ga., Alexander Pondick of Southside High School in Gadsden, Ala., Jacob Whiting of Alexandria High School in Alexandria, Ala., Alex Jones of Pell City High School in Pell City, Ala., Dane Hutcheon of Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs, Colo. and Taylor Korosec of Winter Springs High School in Orlando, Fla.

All eight of the Montevallo signees will enter the program as freshmen in the fall of 2013.

“I am very proud to announce our eight signees for the 2013 class,” said Montevallo baseball coach Chandler Rose. “Our staff has worked extremely hard to identify the right young men and fill our needs for next year. I expect these young men to have a great impact on our program over the next four years.”
