The Calera Lady Eagles opened the 2012 season with a pair of wins at the Jemison tournament Nov. 17.

Calera (2-0) defeated Parrish (56-22) and Holt (51-26).

The Lady Eagles held a 20-18 lead over Parrish at the half, then scored 26 points in the third to pull away for the win. Calera held Parrish to just four points in the second half.

A’kia Harris led Calera with a double-double effort scoring 12 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Tyesha Haynes added 11 points.

Calera concluded play at the tournament with a 51-26 win over Holt. The Lady Eagles took a 29-12 lead at the half and never looked back.

Harris led Calera with 15 points and six boards while Haynes scored 10 points.
