Shirley Ann Thompson, age 77, of Pea Ridge, left her earthly home surrounded by her family and went to be with the Lord on Nov. 26, 2012.

She began her Christian journey as a young girl in the coal mining town of Marvel. She was a faithful member of Christian Mission Church. Over the years she was known by many as a prayer warrior and her gentle spirit and beautiful voice touched many.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel and Dora Goggins; sisters, Billie Hall and Jean Holsomback; brother, Larry Goggins; and grandson, Jason Foster.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Harold “Sonny” Thompson; son, Freddie Thompson (Anita); daughters, Sandra Foster (Ralph), Tricia Tibbs (Randle) and June Foster (Steve); sister, Sue Putman (Jerry); grandchildren, Dora Newell (Jason) and Jacob Thompson; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held Nov. 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Montevallo. Funeral services will be held Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Bass and Rev. Wayne Bullard officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.
