FROM STAFF REPORTS

TUSCALOOSA – The Alabama hockey team will play Mississippi State University at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, and Ole Miss at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.  The games will be played at the Bancorp South Arena in Tupelo, Miss.  Sunday the Frozen Tide will travel to Olive Branch, Miss. to play The University of Arkansas at the Mid-South Ice House.

The last time the Tide played, it defeated Miami 5-4 and Florida Atlantic 8-3in Rockledge, FL. The Tide also fell short to the No.2 ranked University of Central Florida 4-1.  Alabama Freshman Jacob Collins had five goals on the weekend.  Brandon Butler, Matt Mayes, and Mark Wysock each added two goals of their own.
“This team showed a lot of resilience and character in Florida,” said Coach Mike Quenneville. “They battled against two of the top teams in the division and earned a win against #4 Miami. I’m sure we will be better when we face both them and UCF again twice in the spring semester.

Next Monday night, Dec. 3, the hockey team will host a “Learn to Skate” session at 8 p.m.  at the holiday ice skating rink located at 1901 Jack Warner Parkway, Tuscaloosa, Ala. 35401.  The temporary ice skating rink is part of the City of Tuscaloosa’s “Holidays on the River.”  Tickets can be purchased for $10 at the Mildred Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum located next to the rink.
