J.C. Manasco, age 85, of Calera, passed away on Dec. 1, 2012, at his home.

He served in the Army and he was a member of Masonic Lodge #445.

J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Manasco; sisters, Charlene, Pauline and Betty Jean; wife, Bertha Manasco; son, James; and granddaughter, Shanda Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Manasco; son, Earl Manasco (Donna); daughters, Latricia Howze (Tony) and Judy Mooney (John); six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six stepdaughters; one stepson; 12 step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Dec. 3 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Chapel Montevallo. Funeral services will be held Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. at Amazing Grace Worship Center with Rev. Ray Smith and Rev. Kevin Blankenship officiating. He will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens.
