WESTOVER – The U.S. 280 westbound lane was reopened around 3:30 p.m. after an accident.

At approximately 12:59 p.m., the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a wreck on U.S. 280, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.

U.S 280 westbound was closed between Shelby County Highway 55 and Shelby County Highway 51 while deputies investigated this accident, the release stated.

All motorists are encouraged to drive slowly and watch for first responders in the area.
