The Calera Lady Eagles advanced to the semifinals of the Shelby County tournament with a 66-49 victory over Montevallo Dec. 20 at Calera High School.

Calera took a 18-12 lead after the first and held Montevallo to 10 points in the second for a 35-22 lead at the half on 52 percent shooting.

The Lady Eagles kept the momentum going from the first half into the second to seal the win.

Perri Duncan led Calera with 15 points while Tyesha Haynes added 14 points for the Lady Eagles. Keyanna Gayden scored 12 points for Calera.

Kiah Smith led all scorers with 20 points for Montevallo. Myia Farrington added 11 points.
