Yellow Jackets pulls away in second half

The Vincent Yellow Jackets pulled away in the second half for a 71-55 victory over Winterboro Jan. 14.

Vincent (16-4, 5-0 in Class 2A, Area 13) held a 34-32 lead at the half, and pulled away for a 7-point lead into the fourth. The Yellow Jackets scored 22 points in the final quarter.

Jamal McCrimon led Vincent with 17 points and eight rebounds. Anterio Rogers added 16 points with six rebounds, six assists and eight steals. Tyler Williams scored 13 points with seven rebounds and seven assists. Jay Hamilton and E.J. Datcher each scored 10 points.

Vincent can lock up the regular season area championship and the right to host the area tournament with a Jan. 15 victory over Fultondale.
