Evangel Christian jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead and used a stiff defense to win 26-7 over First Assembly Christian of Ashland on Jan. 15.

The Lightning shut out FACS in the first and third quarters in route to their best defensive effort of the season.

Senior Anna Byers led the way for Evangel (7-6) with 11 points and seven rebounds. Bethany Letson added nine points and five rebounds, and hit three three-pointers, and Lacey Entrekin also pulled down nine rebounds.
