Vincent holds off Briarwood, 54-45

The Vincent Yellow Jackets held off a fourth-quarter rally by the Briarwood Christian Lions to claim a 54-45 victory Jan. 29.

The Yellow Jackets trailed by one after the first quarter of play, but responded with a 15-point second to take a 22-16 lead at the half. Vincent scored a game-high 23 points in the third to extend its lead to 45-26 heading into the fourth

Briarwood came alive in the fourth and oustcored Vincent 19-9 in the final quarter, but came just short.

Tyler Williams led all scorers with 22 points for Vincent with four assists and two steals. E.J. Datcher added 15 poitns and five rebounds while Jamal McCrimon scored nine points with six boards.

Sam Cargo led Briarwood with 11 points.

The Yellow Jackets will conclude the regular season Feb. 1 at Childersburg.
