Kingwood roars past Macon-East

Despite trailing after the first eight minutes of play, the Kingwood Christian Lions got on track in the second quarter to take an 80-61 victory over Macon-East Montgomery Academy Feb. 8 at the Alabama Independent School Association Class 3A Elite Eight.

Kingwood scored 26 points to take a 40-28 halftime lead after trailing by three after the first quarter. The Lions sealed the win with a 25-point fourth quarter to take the win.

Titus Adams led Kingwood with 18 points and 10 rebounds in a double-double performance. Silas Edwards added 17 points while Josh Purvis scored 15 points.

With the win, the Lions advance to the Final Four of the AISA Class 3A tournament and will Glenwood on Feb. 14 at 11:30 a.m.
