Wright leads Spain Park into Sweet 16

Spain Park’s Deion Wright picked up a double-double in the Jaguars’ 74-53 Class 6A sub-regional victory over Wetumpka Feb. 15 at SPHS.

Wright led the Jaguars (15-17) with 26 points and 13 rebounds.

Spain Park held a 5-point lead at the end of the opening quarter and then pulled away in the second while scoring 20 points for a 38-26 halftime advantage.

The Jags pulled further away in the fourth with a game-high 25 points.

Jonathan Toups added 16 points for Spain Park while Drew Morgan added 15 points.

Spain Park will face Carver-Montgomery Feb. 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Alabama State University in Montgomery.
