Chelsea explodes for six runs late in win over Bibb County

The Chelsea Hornets exploded for six runs late in an 8-1 victory over Bibb County Feb. 20.

Bibb County took an early 1-0 lead in the first, but the Hornets took the lead scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the third. Chelsea put the game out of reach scoring six runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Senior Tripp Hobbs led Chelsea at the plate going 3-for-4 with a double and a RBI. James Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a RBI. Hunter Howard went 1-for-4 with two RBI’s. Hunter Kennedy, Austin Chadwick and Landon Wiley each had a hit in the win.

Senior Keelan Gregg was outstanding on the mound for Chelsea. He pitched a seven-inning complete game giving up one unearned run on a hit with six walks and seven strikeouts.
