Spain Park downs Hartselle in extra innings

The Spain Park Jaguars were able to overcome a three-run rally by Hartselle to claim a 4-3 extra inning victory Feb. 20.

The Jaguars (3-0) scored three runs in the top of the third, but Hartselle came back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth for a 3-2 Spain Park lead heading into the seventh inning.

Hartselle put together a two-out rally in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into an extra inning with a 3-3 score.

Tom Paduch walked to lead off the top of the eighth and Grant Veteto followed with a two-out single to left to plate Paduch for a 4-3 Spain Park lead. Mason Duke retired the side in the bottom of the eighth to seal the 4-3 Jaguar victory.

Brandon Bilek and Veteto both finished 1-for-3 from the plate with a RBI. Alan Desantis went 1-for-2 with a double and a RBI.
