The Evangel Christian Lightning softball team swept rival Hope Christian March 4.

Evangel (2-0) picked up a 13-3 victory in the first game of the doubleheader. Jessyca Ray struck out 10 batters while not allowing an earned run. Jordan Swindle drove in four RBIs with a double with Anna Vaughn and Ray each had two RBIs.

Amanda Rowley led Hope batting 2-for-3 with a run.

The Lightning wrapped up the sweep with an 18-5 victory in game two. Victoria Caberallo picked up the win for Evangel.
