The Calera Eagles softball team scored five unanswered runs to take a 5-1 Class 4A, Area 7 victory over Bibb County March 12.

Bibb County took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning before Calera evened the score in the third. The Eagles added a run in the fourth and three more in the fifth to claim the 5-1 win.

Emily Sanders pitched seven innings for Calera and allowed one run on four hits for the win. Kymber McGiboney led Calera batting 2-for-4 with a double. Charley Clark and Hayley Merritt each added doubles for the Eagles. Skyler Laird had a team-high two RBIs while batting 1-for-3.
