The Thompson Warriors shut out Wetumpka to win game-one of a Class 6A, Area 7 doubleheader March 14.

The Warriors exploded for seven runs in the fifth inning to win game-one 8-0. Peyton Johnson allowed only two hits with eight strikeouts in the win for Thompson. Heath Haskins finished 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Houston Davenport added a 2-for-4 performance.

Wetumpka battled back and took game-two 7-5. Thompson led 3-2 after two innings, and then extended the lead to 5-2 after the third. Wetumpka scored five unanswered runs int eh fourth and fifth innings to take the 7-5 victory.

Daulton Greene took the loss for the Warriors allowing six runs on six hits with two strikeouts and four walks. Trevor Flynn led the Warriors batting 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Brennan Prichard went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs.
