Warriors jump on Florida High early for win

The Thompson Warriors scored seven runs in the second inning on their way to an 11-1 victory over Florida High School in the Rutherford High School of Panama City tournament March 19.

The Warriors (22-7) scored a run in the first and erupted for seven in the second to take an 8-0 lead. Thompson added a run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to seal the win.

Peyton Johnson picked up the win allowing one run on three hits with two strikeouts and two walks in five and two-thirds innings of work.

Trey Matherson led Thompson batting 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored. Houston Davenport and Heath Haskins each added 2-for-3 performances. Trevor Flynn hit a home run while batting 1-for-3 with a RBI.
