Warriors sweep Chelsea in doubleheader

The Thompson Warriors swept the Chelsea Hornets in a non-area doubleheader March 26 at THS.

The Warriors (25-8) won the first game 6-3 and the second game 10-0 in six innings.

Thompson’s Peyton Johnson picked up the game-one victory allowing one earned run on seven hits with four strikeouts. Tripp Hobbs took the loss for Chelsea allowing four earned runs on seven hits and three strikeouts.

Mel Harwell led the Warriors batting 1-for-2 with two RBIs while Dee Tolbert went 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI. Hobbs led Chelsea batting 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

Mason MacDougall pitched a two-hit shutout with five strikeouts and four walks in the game-two victory. Trey Matherson led the Warriors with a 2-for-3 effort with a double, RBI and two runs scored.
