A bit of endless summer in your neighborhood: That describes Elite Tan, located in the Winn Dixie Shopping Center of Indian Springs.

Owner Vicki Taylor has operated Elite Tan since January. “We offer more than just tanning,” she said when describing her store.

Inside the store, your eyes are treated to a colorful assortment of beautiful resort wear, jewelry, totes and lotions. Popular items today are bright poncho scarves.

When you want that summer-tan look, Elite Tan has numerous ways to serve you. There are roomy tanning beds you lie in, and there are tanning booths for standing.

A typical tanning session lasts 12 minutes, so bring your smart phone. The tanning beds can play your favorite music from your phone. If it is an iPhone, the bed even charges it while you tan.

Vicki and her staff also provide sunless tanning. Step into one booth, and it quickly sprays you with an even tan.

On Thursdays, a professional airbrush-tanning artist is here to apply the perfect tan. Please note this particular service is by appointment only. Please call 408-0220 to schedule your appointment or ask the staff any questions you may have about tanning.

Elite Tan is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday hours are 1 to 5 p.m.

One customer of Elite Tan, Mackenzie Tucker, has been coming here for two months. “One of the things I really like about this place is you never have to wait,” she said. “Their service is great!” Mackenzie is a senior at Oak Mountain High School. She added, “It is so close to my school, too.”

Its convenience is a big plus for Elite Tan. There are always near-by parking places available. The owner, Vicki, wants people who live and work around here to know just how easy it is to visit.

“I truly love what I do, and I love to make people happy,” she said. “When somebody walks out of here, and they are very happy about the way they look, that makes me happy.”
