Oak Mountain moves into ASWA softball top-10

The Oak Mountain Eagles softball team joined area-rival Pelham in the Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 6A top-10 in the April 4 release of the poll.

Oak Mountain (21-9) moved up to No. 9 in 6A after receiving votes the past two weeks. Pelham (21-2) held on to its No. 2 ranking while the rest of the top-5 in the classification stayed unchanged.

Thompson (17-8) continued to receive votes from the writers.

The Kingwood Christian Lady Lions held on to their No. 4 ranking in the composite AISA poll while Cornerstone Christian received votes.

The Shelby County Ladycats (11-2) fell from No. 8 in last week’s ranking to only receiving votes after suffering their first two losses of the season.
