Montevallo women’s golf finishes seventh at Bash at the Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The University of Montevallo women’s golf team finished seventh in team standings at the Bash at the Beach tournament April 6-7 at the LPGA International course.

The Falcons collectively carded a team score of 106-over par 682 in the two-day tournament after cutting 24 strokes off its first-round score and posting a 329 in the final round April 7.

Lynn University won the tournament hosted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a two-round score of 46-over par 622.

Freshman Morgan Natale led the Falcons with a two-round score of 16-over par 160. Natale, who finished in a tie for 12th overall in individual standings, led Montevallo with a 4-over par 76 in the final round of the tournament.

Sophomore Ashlee Beck finished in a tie for 18th overall in individual standings after carding a 23-over par 167 in the two-day tournament. Junior Hilary Shaner shot a 28-over par 172 in the tournament, which placed her in a tie for 30th overall in individual standings.

Junior Kira Chaudhry carded a 39-over par 183 in the two-day tournament, which placed her in a tie for 48thoverall in individual standings.

Senior Kayla Witt rounded out the group of Montevallo golfers with a two-round score of 51-over par 195, which placed her in a tie for 56th overall in individual standings.

The Falcons will take an extended break before heading to Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga. to participate in the Peach Belt Conference tournament, which will be hosted by Columbus State University.

Montevallo will participate in a practice round Friday, April 19. The tournament opens with first round play Saturday, April 20 at 8 a.m. CST. The final round of the two-round conference tournament gets underway Sunday, April 21 at 8 a.m. CST.
