Residents can bring their waste to the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium at 100 Ben Chapman Drive from 8 a.m.-noon. Participants must bring a valid ID to prove their Hoover residency, according to a city press release.

Residents can dispose of household cleaners, paints, batteries, automotive fluids, caulk or glue, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, electronics, kerosene, pool cleaners and insect repellents.

The Hoover Police Department will also accept prescription and non-prescription medications, as well as firearms, ammunition, reloading supplies, edged weapons and fireworks. No questions will be asked about items that are collected, according to the press release.

Old and tattered American flags will also be collected for proper disposal.

The event is not intended for contractors or businesses. For more information, call the Hoover Public Works Department at 444-7543.
