Thompson sweeps Valley

The Thompson Warriors continued to dominate the competition with a doubleheader sweep of Valley April 10.

The Warriors (35-8) began the day with a 12-1 victory led by Trey Matherson and Dee Tolbert. Matherson finished the game 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Tolbert added a 2-for-2 effort with a double and two RBIs. Jackson Cofer pitched four scoreless innings and allowed three hits with three strikeouts.

Thompson followed with a 6-0 victory in game two. Mason MacDougall pitched six scoreless innings and allowed two hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Drew Avans went 2-for-4 with a triple and a RBI to lead the Warriors.
