MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Student-athletes from each University of Montevallo athletic team competed against each other in a racing and water-sport competitions April 16 at Varsity Field while raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the annual Student-Athlete Advisory Council Showdown.

The student-athletes came together for a good cause, raising more than $300 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which will be pooled with the money raised from the SAAC auction of a Montevallo athletics quilt during basketball season.

The Montevallo women’s soccer team finished first in the department-wide competition, which included more than 60 student-athletes representing all 12 sports, as well as the Falcons’ cheerleaders.

The Montevallo men’s cross country team finished second in the games, followed by the baseball team.
