Mike Miller was born into a Navy family on the island of Guam in 1971. From Guam, the family transferred to Virginia Iowa, then North Carolina and finally to Pensacola, Fla., for high school graduation.
Miller attended the University of West Florida for his college degree.
After working fun jobs such as bellman at beach resorts and bagging groceries, he then decided to “grow up” and follow his brother to the Birmingham area for a real job.
Miller worked for Enterprise Car Rental for four years. While employed there, he met future wife Courtney Thames who was employed at another Enterprise location.
A pharmaceutical sales job took Miller to Columbus, Ga. In the next 10 years, Miller married and became a father to Luke, age 7, and Kennedy, age 5. A downsizing due to the economy left Miller temporarily unemployed.
Since both Millers were familiar with the Birmingham area, they decided on a business venture that would bring them back to Shelby County. Several months of investigation in this “mulching field” finally got Miller ready to roll last month.
“It is difficult to get some folks to hear you out because they think it’s a sales pitch or too good to be true, but blown mulch is fast and easy with no manual back-breaking labor required,” said Miller.
Different mulches are available and free estimates are given with a family business attitude. Miller, like so many young men today, wants to make his own way doing something he enjoys and having some family time. He is a former soccer player and was an assistant coach in Columbus, so time for sports activities, going to the beach and being the “Green Egg chef” of the family are important.
All you have to do is relax, call for an estimate, come home and find your yard clean and transformed. No messes left and no heavy equipment on your lawn. You will be more than satisfied with the professional and efficient staff and the quality of their workmanship.
