COLUMBIANA – The South Shelby Chamber of Commerce will host its annual silent auction and golf tournament in June.
The silent auction will be Thursday, June 13 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and the Jeff Falkner Memorial Golf Tournament will be Friday, June 14. Both will be held at Magnolia Meadows, located at 315 Highway 47 South in Columbiana.
These events are held each year to help fund the South Shelby Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund. The chamber gives a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior at the Shelby County School of Technology, Coosa Valley Academy, Cornerstone Christian School and Shelby County, Chelsea and Vincent high schools. The chamber also awards a $500 scholarship to the winner of the Miss Shelby County Pageant..
The auction is open to the public. Admission is $10/person and includes refreshments. Chamber members donate items for the auction. Linda Cook is chairing the auction committee.
Evan Major is in charge of this year’s golf tournament, which will have shotgun starts at 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. A biscuit breakfast will be served before 8 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and provided by Texas Roadhouse.
Bryant Bank and the Shelby County Reporter are also main sponsors. Donation levels are individual golfers, $100; four-person golf team, $400; tee or green sponsor, $100; hospitality tent on the greens sponsor, $250; and patron sponsor, $50.
The Chamber serves Columbiana, Chelsea, Westover, Vincent, Wilsonville, Harpersville and the South Shelby region.
