Beulah (Nell) Whitten


Beulah (Nell) Whitten, age 72, of Shelby, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on July 13 at Bay Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Johnye Horton and Rev. A.J. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on July 12 at Bolton Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Mrs. Whitten worked for the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. Whitten is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Whitten. She is survived by her son, Phillip Whitten; daughter, Susan Corley (Lloyd); granddaughters, Whitney N. Corley and Andrea D. Corley; sisters, Fay Horton, Patsy Valdez and Kay Pace (Charles); and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Please sign online condolences at
