INDIAN SPRINGS — After almost a decade, Indian Springs officials are searching for a new town clerk.

Kelly Rasco, who has been the town clerk for about nine years, resigned her position effective Aug. 9, according to Indian Springs Mayor Brenda Bell-Guercio.

Bell-Guercio said she wasn’t sure why Rasco resigned, but working with her has been a pleasure.

“We will miss her. She’s been a great person to work with,” Bell-Guercio said. “And I’ve enjoyed working with her in my time as mayor.”

Bell-Guercio said she’s been reviewing applications for the position and hopes to be ready to make a recommendation to the Town Council within a week. The council will then elect the clerk if they approve Bell-Guercio’s recommendation.

“We’ve had a lot of good applicants come in, and I think we have some good candidates,” Bell-Guercio said. “Meanwhile, business is going on as usual.”
