UM hires new Assistant Sports Information Director

MONTEVALLO – The University of Montevallo athletic department recently announced the hiring of Nick Moeller as an Assistant Sports Information Director.

Moeller joins Sports Information Director Wesley Hallman in the Montevallo Athletic Communications Department.

“We are extremely excited about the addition of Nick to our staff,” Hallman said. “He brings a wealth of experience in a variety of areas that can help us promote the achievements of University of Montevallo student-athletes and the exciting developments in our athletic programs to a greater audience.”

Moeller spent the past year as a Public Relations Assistant with the Kalamazoo Wings, a minor league hockey affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Vancouver Canucks based in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Moeller served in several roles for the Wings, including official scorekeeper, press box supervisor and broadcaster. Moeller also wrote press releases for media outlets and league officials and acted as the organization’s social ambassador for the team on Twitter and Facebook.

Moeller spent four years as a Sports Information Assistant at Kalamazoo College prior to joining the Kalamazoo Wings organization.

Moeller served as the official statistician for baseball, football, volleyball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s soccer and women’s soccer in his role at Kalamazoo College. Moeller also served on the broadcasting team for football and men’s and women’s basketball.

Moeller graduated from Kalamazoo College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in June 2010. Moeller graduated from Western Michigan University with a Master of Arts degree in Sport Management in April.
