Dear Editor,

We want to thank a very special person in Columbiana for being a hero and helping to get an escaped inmate back behind bars where he belongs.

Shannon Crumpton, the inmate, escaped from a Montgomery release program.

Amanda Falkner, a convenience store clerk at Beeswax Bait and Tackle, helped the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office by providing a car description and tag number so deputies could take the inmate back into custody.

Without Amanda’s help this might not have happened. We want to thank her for what she did to help the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office catch the inmate.

We think she should get some kind of reward for her help in catching him.

We are very proud of her for taking action because she could have gotten seriously hurt. People just don’t realize what a great thing she did. We are very grateful to have her in our lives.

Thank you, Amanda!
